The Seven Seas
Something is wrong with the history of this world. The further you sail, the more the sea gives back.
A story the sea tells as you go
The story goes on. Truth's Gate does not stay shut: seven legends and one friend break it, and beyond lies a passage under the ice, four peoples who do not agree, the dead world of the last human age, a toxic sea, and a sea made of numbers. The wiki tells all of it for those who want it (spoilers, folded shut).
The main story rises through twelve chapters across levels 1 to 200. It is told only to the captain who reaches it: the game shows you the chapter you are on, how far through it you are, and what the seas have uncovered so far. Nothing ahead is shown, here or in the wiki. Between chapters the seas change: new coasts and wonders appear, and some places exist only for captains who have got far enough.
Around the story is a permanent Discovery Log (press J in the game) of everything you have found. It shows ??? where there is more to find.
"DID ANYONE ELSE SEE THAT?"
Rarely, out on open water, a silver craft descends and begins lifting something out of the sea. The whole event lasts about a minute. You have to notice it, slow down and click the craft before it leaves. If you do, it goes in your log forever.
