The Seven Seas (story)
Something is wrong with the history of this world. The further you sail and the more you do, the more the sea gives back.
This page does not spoil it. The story is told only to the captain who reaches it: each chapter opens when your levels do, and the game shows you the chapter you are on and nothing beyond it.
How the story works
- Twelve chapters across levels 1 to 200. Your chapter follows your highest category level (Maritime, Trade, Adventure or Combat). When a new one begins you are told its story beat, paid a large Adventure XP reward, and the seas change: new coasts and wonders can be found. Some places only exist for captains who have got far enough.
- The Discovery Log (press J) shows the chapter you are on, a bar for how far through it you are, the level at which the story moves on, and how many of this chapter's wonders you have uncovered. Entries you have not found show as ???. A button lists the chapters you have already lived through; none ahead of you are shown.
- Wonders: sail close to a place the sea has uncovered to chart it. Each pays a big chunk of Adventure XP and Dablooms.
- World events at sea: now and then something strange happens out on the water. See Alien salvage.
Progress
Everything counts: levels in any category, discoveries, salvage events you witness. Nothing is missable for good; the sea keeps what you have not found yet.
Beyond chapter twelve
The story does not end at level 200. If you have already read this far and want it all, the spoiler guides tell the rest, folded shut until you click: the whole story from the beginning, the Siege of Truth's Gate (seven legends and a friend), and Parts II, III and IV.
